  La Rioja
Famatina Valley has become the most famous wine region of the province. It is situated between Velasco and Famatina hills. Like the rest of the Argentina wine geography, the weather is dry, relatively windy, and soils are alluvial. Height is definitely considerable, ranging between 800 to 1,400 meters above sea level.

The predominant conducting system is “parral”, since the suffocating sun requires a structure capable of protecting the berries from excessive sun exposure during summer.

Torrontes is the most cultivated wine variety, although Malbec, Syrah, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon are developing well too.
