Sharing Vino. Feeding Dreams: Argentine wine, gastronomy and art united in celebrating solidarity

Organised by Wines of Argentina and Casa Vigil, the event in honor of the Volunteer Corps of Dr. Humberto Notti Hospital raised $286,920.

Wines of Argentina, the entity responsible for the global promotion of Vino Argentino, and Casa Vigil presented "Sharing Vino. Feeding Dreams", an event to show solidarity, which united Argentine wine, gastronomy and art with a common goal: to collaborate with the Volunteer Corps of Dr. Humberto Notti Hospital, the most important paediatric institution in Cuyo.

The women's association, which for 50 years has provided help and support to children and their families, received a total collection of $286,920, from ticket sales and an auction that was held at the end of the evening.

Marisel Caiñas, president of the hospital's Volunteer Corps, said: "our daily task would not be possible without the help of all the people who collaborated in this unique and unforgettable night. We will continue to stand by and assist all the mothers and children of the hospital, working so that every day families find greater support.”

At the event, various food stations were assembled with dishes prepared by five rising stars of American cuisine that won the StarChefs contest which awarded the best original recipes paired with Argentine wine. In addition, prestigious local chefs participated, collaborated with and assisted their foreign counterparts in a true exchange of flavours: Sebastián Weigandt, Patricia Roggerone, Gabriel Stivala, Enrique Palacios, Mauro Porfiri, Santiago Maestre, all under the coordination of the host chef Federico Pettit. Analía Jakubson (Dulce Boutique), was in charge of the sweets table.

The wine industry was present with wineries including Andeluna, Bodegas Bianchi, Doña Paula, El Enemigo, Luigi Bosca, Melipal, Riglos, Rutini, Susana Balbo, Trapiche and Vicentin, and a bar with wine based cocktails.

The music was in the hands of Ay Gualicho, music by women, who enlivened the night with a repertoire that rescued the folkloric essence of Argentina and Latin America.

The event culminated with an auction of collection bottles that won 90+ points at the Argentina Wine Awards 2017, the most influential Argentine wine contest in Latin America organised by WofA for the last 11 years, and works of art by renowned artists from Mendoza such as Osvaldo Chiavazza, Laura Rudman, Leandro Pintos, Cecilia Prato, Renata Würschmidt, Fernando Jereb, as well as pieces provided by Mandrágora Galería de Arte.

Alberto Arizu, president of Wines of Argentina, said that “at WofA we are hoping that every event we hold has a regional impact. We are very happy to be able to collaborate with this group of women who perform such a noble task for our society. We thank all the people who accompanied us and made this significant donation possible.”

"Sharing Vino. Feeding Dreams" had the commitment of Dr. Ricardo Diumenjo and the sponsorship of TN Coopers, Yacopini Nissan Official Dealer, Park Hyatt Mendoza, R.Cristal and Jumbo; Diario Los Andes as Media Partner and the institutional support of the AAS and EMETUR. They were also joined by Dulce Boutique, VillavicencioEventbrite, Tankito and Beat’s Bar.
