About Wines of Argentina
Wines of Argentina is the organisation responsible for the VINO ARGENTINO brand in the world. Since 1993, it has been promoting the image of local wines abroad, and helping to guide the export strategy of Argentina, by studying and analysing the changes that occur in consumer markets. Its aim is to contribute to the consolidation of Argentina among the main wine exporting countries in the world and contribute to the overall success of the wine industry, by increasing the positive perception in the trade of opinion leaders and consumers.
Since 1981, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bordeaux, France, has been holding this fair and attracting visitors from around the world. While most of them come from France, Vinexpo has a global reach, and is especially interesting for showcasing the markets of Asia and North America.
In 2011, China ranked second in the number of visitors, doubling its attendance from 2009. As well as China, Vinexpo received a large number of visitors from Japan, India, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand. The US and UK followed China in the number of visitors and nearly 4% came from Canada. It was also attended by more than 1250 international journalists.
In 2013 it was attended by more than 48,800 visitors who were able to visit the stands of 2400 exhibitors.
For the 2015 edition, the number of visitors is expected to exceed 48,000, from more than 120 nationalities.
In addition to the tastings / winery displays, Vinexpo organises and carries out studies, symposiums and conferences with themes relevant to the sector.
