Argentina at Vinexpo, the most prestigious showcase for the winemaking industry

33 Argentine wineries will present their wines in a cutting-edge Pavilion

Between June 16 and June 20, thirty three Argentine wineries will showcase more than 200 labels at Vinexpo, the world's most important wine and spirits show, attracting more than 2,500 exhibitors and 48,000 visitors (2011 data). The wineries will present their new wines at Wines of Argentina's stand, under the sponsorship of Inprotur (Argentina's National Institute of Tourism Promotion) and Fundación Exportar (Argentina's export promotion agency).

Wines of Argentina, the organization responsible for the image of Argentine wine worldwide, will present, in addition to the participating wineries, the "Tunnel of the Senses", an innovating experience that seeks to consolidate the positioning of the Vino Argentino brand worldwide.

Visitors to the tunnel will have the chance to go on a tour of the four grape varieties that best represent Argentina and its wines, experiencing sensory stimuli that will highlight the features of Argentina's iconic varietals. This unique experience will use light, sound, aromas, and textures to help visitors better understand our varietals.

• Malbec will be associated to the power and freshness of sunrise. Visitors will sense the aromas of red berries and listen to birdsongs.
• Chardonnay will be connected to the brightness of the sun at midday. There will be images of melt waters and the sounds of a river running on a bed of rocks.
• Torrontés will be linked to the peace, tranquility and warmth of siesta time. The sensory experience will involve aromas of flowers and citrus and the sound of the breeze through the trees.
• Cabernet Sauvignon will represent nighttime. The senses will be stimulated by the chirping of crickets in a country field and the softness of velvet.

In addition, as part of the schedule of activities of the wine show, Wines of Argentina will present two seminars for the press and the trade: one on investment into the winemaking industry, delivered by José Manuel Ortega, CEO of the Spanish-owned O'Fournier Winery; and another one on the features and diversity of Argentina's wine regions, delivered by Bodega Monteviejo's winemaker Marcelo Pelleriti, better known as "the 100 Parker Points man".

"Participating at Vinexpo has always yielded very good results for our wineries in terms of brand exposure and the networking with the press and the trade. Wines of Argentina has promoted Argentina's participation in this show since 1989. More and more wineries participate each year, reaching this year to 33. All of them are making a great effort to take part, but they know it is well worth it. Vinexpo opens your doors to the world", said Wines of Argentina's President Alberto Arizu.

It is important to point out that Wines of Argentina is developing a social network campaign during and after the fair releasing news reports from its Pavilion to enhance the positioning of the participating Argentine wineries. There will be a call to action with the #ArgentinaEnVinexpo hash tag on Twitter and Vine. Within Facebook, Wines of

Argentina will work with the producers to share contents and pictures, which will then be replicated in Instagram and Pinterest. Wines of Argentina’s young team of professionals continuously work on social networks and with effort and innovative spirit has managed to play a great part in them. Today, Wines of Argentina boasts more than 43,500 fans, which may lead us to say that it is the most popular "Wines of" in the world since last April, when it surpassed Portugal's fan page.

Wines of Argentina is the organization in charge of promoting the brand VINO ARGENTINO around the world. Wines of Argentina promotes the image of local wines abroad, in addition to guiding the export strategy of Argentine wineries through careful study and analysis of the changes taking place in consumer markets. Its goal is to contribute to the consolidation of Argentina as one of the main wine exporting countries in the world and to the global success of the Argentine wine industry by enhancing its positive image in the wine trade, among opinion leaders and consumers.

About Vinexpo

Organized by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the French Vinexpo exhibition has attracted visitors from all over the world since 1981. Although most of them come from France, Vinexpo boasts a global reach and is particularly interesting for those seeking to showcase their products in the Asian and North American markets.

In 2011, China was second in the number of visitors, duplicating its number of visitors for 2009. In addition to the Chinese, Vinexpo also received a large number of visitors from Japan, India, Vietnam and Thailand. The USA and the UK followed China in number of visitors and almost 4% of all attendees came from Canada. It should be highlighted that more than 1250 journalists from all over the world attended the fair in 2012, and a growing number of them is expected for 2013.
In addition to the tastings and exhibitions offered by each winery, Vinexpo also organizes and carries out studies, seminars and conferences on issues that are relevant to the industry.
