Argentina’s Successful Participation at Expovinis
Twenty four wineries from all Argentine wine regions participated in the 15th edition of Brazil’s largest wine fair.
São Paulo, April 26, 2012. Wines of Argentina, the organization that promotes the image of Argentine wines around the world, and 24 Argentine wineries were present at Expovinis, Brazil’s largest wine fair, which took place in the city of São Paulo.
From Tuesday April 24 to Thursday April 26, a group of wineries from the Argentine provinces of Salta, La Rioja, Tucumán, San Juan, Mendoza and Neuquén showcased their wines to a large number of visitors, including members of the trade (importers, distributors and retailers), sommeliers, representatives of the specialized press and end-consumers.
A large number of attendees visited the Argentine pavilion and had the opportunity to learn about the diversity of Argentine wine products. “We’re very pleased with how the fair turned out. On the second day, we began to run out of promotional material. This edition attracted a lot more people than last year’s,” explained Carolina Tonnelier, responsible for the Latin American market at Wines of Argentina.
The National Institute for Tourism Promotion was also present at the stand, together with the provinces of Mendoza, Neuquén and Córdoba, engaging visitors with interactive games and treating them to special promotional material. The Wine Institute (with offices in Mendoza, Cafayate and Buenos Aires) was also present to offer entertaining aroma experiences and blind tastings, and contributed to increasing people’s knowledge on wines like other exhibitors at the pavilion.
It should be noted that the presence of the prestigious wine journalist and critic Marcelo Coppello on April 25 was one of the key moments of the Argentine participation at Expovinis. He signed copies of Baco, his new magazine.
