Wines of Argentina at Vinexpo 2011

With Vinexpo 2011 just 2 weeks away, preparations are hotting up at Wines of Argentina for what looks set to be another fantastic show. This year we are proud to present a total of 36 producers, who together will be showing over 300 wines from throughout Argentina - including Patagona, San Rafael, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja and Salta.

With Vinexpo 2011 just 2 weeks away, preparations are hotting up at Wines of Argentina for what looks set to be another fantastic show.

This year we are proud to present a total of 36 producers, who together will be showing over 300 wines from throughout Argentina - including Patagona, San Raphael, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja and Salta.

Moreover, we will also be using this opportunity to unveil our brand new country identity, which we think you will find as inspiring as we do.

Specific activities this year include:

  • Michel Rolland Seminar

One of the worlds most respected winemakers - and one of Argentina’s best advocates - will be giving his expert opinion on some of the top trophy medal winning wines from the Argentina Wine Awards 2011, plus his very own elite selected from the ‘Clos de los Siete’ vineyards in Mendoza’s Uco Valley.

This event is free to attend but likely to be extremely popular, so we recommend arriving early.  It will take place in tasting lab 2 in Hall 2 at 12.30pm on Tuesday 21st June.

  • Tommy Lam Seminar

Considered by many to be the forefather of sommeliers in Asia, Tommy will be hosting a first for Wines of Argentina at Vinexpo - a masterclass of 10 wines exclusively in Chinese for a Chinese audience.

This seminar reflects the rapidly growing importance of the far east and is a ‘must see’ for anyone traveling from China wishing to know more about Argentina.

Tommy’s talk takes place in tasting lab 2 in Hall 2 at 9.30am on Monday 20th June.

  • On-Stand Tasting with Our Resident Expert Simon Howland

Simon - a master sommelier and Argentina expert - will be on hand all day at the stand to help you with your questions, provide impromptu tastings and direct you towards the right wines for your needs.

Whether you are an importer looking for a new Argentine winery, are interested in what the effects of Altitude really mean or simply want to learn more about what Argentina has to offer we urge you to come to the stand and seek out Simon at the Wines of Argentina generic desk.

Twice a day at 11am and 3pm Simon will be hosting informal tutored talks on topics including ‘Argentina in 3D’, ‘Argentina’s White Wines’ and ‘Argentina’s Blends - beating the   Bordelais’.

  • A Taste of Argentina

Last but not least, if you fancy matching your wine with some of Argentina’s delicious speciality foods, twice a day we will be serving our famous ‘Empanada’s’ and ‘Choripan’ direct from Bordeaux’s top Argentina restaurant El Nacional.

We look forward to seeing you there!
