Ricardo Castilho de Melo and Ricardo Dangelo in Argentina
Editorial director RICARDO CASTILHO DE MELO and photographer RICARDO DANGELO will be visiting Mendoza, Patagonia and the northern region of the country from February 19 to 26.
The purpose of their visit is to prepare a report on the different wine regions in Argentina, their wines and main characteristics for the Prazeres da Mesa magazine.
Brazil ranked third among Argentina’s bottled wine export markets – both in turnover and volume – between January and November 2010. The total volume of bottled wine exports reached USD 49,790,739 and 1,762,626 units (9-liter cases). In the case of sparkling wines, Brazil leads the ranking with a turnover of USD 3,205,566 and a volume of 110,801 9-liter cases. If we consider only Tetra Brik-packaged wines, Brazil goes down to the 16th position in turnover and to the 17th position in volume, with USD 81,855 and 10,200 9-liter units respectively.
The following activities have been scheduled for their visit:
Tastings at wineries in Argentina’s northern region - February 19, 2011
Visit to wineries in Patagonia - February 21 and 22, 2011
Visit to wineries in Mendoza - February 23 and 24, 2011
