Argentine wines in Canadian hotels

Tasting of Argentine wines for a group of food and beverage managers of the restaurants at the Delta Hotels and Resorts, the largest hotel chain in Canada, with more than 40 hotels and resorts across the country.

Wines of Argentina organized a tasting of Argentine wines at the Diplomatic Hotel in Mendoza with the aim of presenting them before a group of food and beverage managers of the restaurants at the Delta Hotels and Resorts. This is the largest hotel chain in Canada, with more than 40 hotels and resorts across the country.

The event gathered representatives of 10 hotels in Ontario who also visited several wineries and took part in tastings of wines from Mendoza, Patagonia, La Rioja and San Juan.

In the framework of Wines of Argentina's campaign to position Argentine wines in the Canadian consumer market, and within a schedule of large-scale promotional events in this market, this action promises to consolidate the presence of our wines in one of the most important hotel chains in Canada, and, at the same time, to promote Argentine wine and dish pairings by training the executive chefs of each hotel.

These 10 hotels in Ontario add up to a total of more than 3,000 rooms, plus 12 restaurants and 8 bars where the products will be offered.

In general, the selection will include 70% red wines and 30% white wines, within a price range of CAD 15 to 70 retail.

An exceptional promotion: During the month of October, a special program on Argentine Culture and Gastronomy will be developed at every restaurant, lounge and bar in the selected locations in Ontario. The special wine list will also be available in the rooms of each participating hotel.

Delta Hotels will buy all the wines tasted in the presentation at the Mendoza Diplomatic Hotel, and the selected wineries will become suppliers of the hotel chain. Each hotel will pick 10 Argentine wine labels that will participate in the promotion. These wines will be listed on the menues and presented at the events held in each hotel over the course of the promotion campaign, with room sales for that period estimated to reach over 45,000 bottles.

The two wines delivering the best performance during the month of October will be kept in the wine list of each hotel for at least one year.

Finally, an Argentine chef will train hotel chefs and prepare the dishes that best pair with the selected wines.
