Jay Miller hosts a tasting of Argentine wines

Jay Miller, of the Wine Advocate magazine, will conduct the Jay Miller’s Blind Tasting to be held in New York from August 9th to August 13th.

Jay Miller, of the Wine Advocate magazine, will conduct the Jay Miller’s Blind Tasting to be held in New York from August 9th to August 13th.

Wines of Argentina will organize the Wine Advocate’s Blind Tasting of Argentine wines in collaboration with QW Wine Experts.

The number of Argentine wineries participating in the event will amount to 133. As each winery has been allowed to present up to 4 wine labels, a total of 532 samples will be available for tasting.

The wines to be tasted are from harvests that are currently being distributed in the US market, or that will go on sale within the next 6 months. None of these wines has ever been tasted by Jay Miller in any of his previous tastings.

Miller suggested that wineries should present young wines in the red and white categories, unless they have reserve quality wines.

The Masters of Wine that attended the last edition of the Argentina Wine Awards in Mendoza agreed on the fact that “the wines that have achieved success in the United States are those that are fresh, well-balanced, fruity and well-rounded.”
