Argentinian wines and chances with sommeliers, the perfect match

Within the actions performed to achieve the country brand consolidation, Wines of Argentina organized Los Ángeles Luncheon. The event was carried out in SONA Restaurant, with the presence of sommeliers and wine buyers.

Pairing was the star of Los Ángeles Luncheon, an unprecedented and successful event. Argentinian wines, paired with exquisite dishes, were tasted last July 8th in SONA, one of the most important restaurants of Los Ángeles. The goal of the event is to build the country brand conscientiously and show the world the Argentinian terroir diversification. This time, the event gathered sommeliers and wine buyers from the metropolitan area of Los Ángeles and San Diego. All dishes were created by the Chef David Myers.

Nora Favelukes, the Public Relations Representative of Wines of Argentina in United States, said that the event was a success considering attendees’ quality and quantity. Besides, high scores were achieved (4.9 of 5.0). Furthermore, another goal was reached since several commercial deals were made: this time 28 sales were generated from 28 applications.

Clients’ identification

By means of Full Circle Wine Solutions- a company suggesting the highest quality solutions adapted to wines- Wines of Argentina offers this pairing event in four key cities for the national wines: New York, Los Ángeles, Chicago and Miami.

The aim of this event is to identify clients, since it gathers 21 sommeliers and wine buyers from the most influential restaurants and clubs of those cities. This way, clients may make commercial deals through the sommeliers invited by FCWS, a company led by the well-known master sommelier Evan Goldstein.

This time, the selected wines were: Francois Lurton Pinot Gris 2008, Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva Malbec 2007, Trapiche Torrontés 2007, Bodega O. Fournier Alpha Crux Malbec 2006, Bodega Colomé Torrontés 2007, Bodega Salentein “Numina” Malbec 2004, Viña Cobos Bramare Marchiori Vineyard Chardonnay 2007, Bodega Valentín Bianchi “Enzo Bianchi” Red Blend 2003, Humberto Canale Gran Reserva Pinot Noir  2006, Zuccardi “Zeta” Malbec-Tempranillo 2005, Trivento Golden Reserve Malbec 2006 and Kaiken Ultra Cabernet Sauvignon 2006.
