Top UK Wine Writers Celebrate Christmas with Argentine Wines

The UK Circle of Wine Writers will be organizing its annual Christmas event during which Argentine wines will play the leading role this year.

The UK Circle of Wine Writers will be organizing its annual Christmas event during which Argentine wines will play the leading role this year.

This celebration will give the most prestigious UK wine writers a great opportunity to finish the year with an exceptional tasting of Argentine wines. Renowned and influential opinion makers such as Jancis Robinson, Steven Spurrier, Tim Atkin, Charles Metcalf and Oz Clarke will be attending the event, among other 200 key figures.

The celebration will take place at the luxurious residence of the Argentine Embassy in Belgravia, one of the most select areas in the heart of London, and will consist in a dinner gala in which typical Argentine dishes, an exceptional selection of wines and a tango show will be offered.

Sparkling wines, whites, reds, rosés and late harvest wines by wineries from different wine regions in Argentina will be tasted and enjoyed by wine journalists whose opinions have a direct impact in this world market, which ranks fourth in importance for Argentine wines.

The Circle of Wine Writers is an association that gathers more than 270 authors, announcers, journalists, photographers and educators who are professionally devoted to communications in the world of wines and spirits. The best UK wine writers are members of this organization. This is a very important gala within their yearly social agenda and at least 200 attendees are expected. It will be the largest wine writers meeting focused on Argentine wines – apart from the Annual Tasting.

The Circle of Wine Writers was founded in 1960 by the late Ray Cirilo. Although most of the members are based in England, the association has members all around the world. Among the objectives of the association are: to improve communications involving wine, spirits and beer; to contribute to consumers’ increasing knowledge about and interest in wine; to promote quality wine and spirits and warn against defective products and dubious practices; to establish and keep a good relationship with the media and the wine trade; to provide a space for influential members to express their opinions and for the exchange of information; and to organize workshops, meetings, talks and tastings.
