"I have got an excellent impression of Argentina"

Natalie MacLean, one of the most well known Canadian journalists specialized in wine, was in Mendoza and San Juan during the last two weeks in May. During her stay, she visited wineries, interviewed winemakers and wineries’ owners, made a barbecue, rode a horse, and went through vineyards; in other words, she went through the “Argentinian experience” herself.

The purpose of Natalie MacLean’s visit, which took place in the provinces of Mendoza and San Juan from May 15 to May 24, was that the Canadian journalist had the chance to increase her knowledge about Argentinian wines. This way, she would be able to communicate through her articles clearer and more detailed and accurate information about the Argentinian winemaking industry.

Natalie is a journalist specialized in wine, so the visit was focused on getting different stories about Argentinian wines from wineries’ owners and winemakers. She is not critical and her aim is not to rate many wines each day, but to interview outstanding people from the winemaking industry.

MacLean said to Wines of Argentina, the organizer entity of this important event, that Argentinian wines can compete in quality and price with any product from any part of the world. “Argentinian wines are excellent and balanced, having a lot of flavors and diversity,” she stated.

Once at home, MacLean has decided to publish a review of at least 157 wines tasted in Argentina and write and article “in depth” about our customs, wineries, culture and cuisine. “I have got an excellent impression of the wineries I visited. I really liked the wine pairings with typical meals that I tasted throughout my entire itinerary. I returned home fascinated about Argentinian wines and people,” she said in the interview.

"I am still recovering from the trip, from so many new experiences," pointed out the Canadian journalist.
