Andrew John Catchpole, from the UK, is visiting Argentina from October 28th to November 8th

Andrew John Catchpole, from the UK, is visiting Argentina from October 28th to November 8th with the aim of taking part in tastings of Malbec and Torrontés, as well as other wine varieties grown in our country. His itinerary includes Buenos Aires (where he is tasting wines from Argentina's Northern region), La Rioja, Mendoza, San Juan and Patagonia. Catchpole wishes to focus mainly on the Patagonia region – its development, wines, and industrial sustainability.

His aim is to explore the different Argentine wine regions and their distinctive characteristics, and taste their representative wines, to later write articles for the Argentina supplement of Harpers Wine & Spirit, and for Decanter magazine, respectively.

With an important educational background and a wide experience, Andrew joined Harpers Wine & Spirit Weekly, later launching and editing HOT (Harpers on Trade) restaurant magazine. This was followed by several years as Wine Correspondent at The Daily Telegraph. Based in Brighton, Andrew currently writes on wines, spirits, restaurants and travel for numerous trade and consumer publications including Harpers Wine & Spirit, Decanter, The Guardian, Slowfood, Imbibe, Square Meal, Drinks Business, Wine Business International, Drinks International, OLN and The Times.

His itinerary includes, in Buenos Aires, the tasting of wines from the province of Salta – from wineries El Porvenir, Colomé, Amalaya and Michel Torino –; visits to La Riojana and Valle de la Puerta wineries in the province of La Rioja; and later on, in Mendoza, the selected wineries are: Tapiz, Casarena, Masi Tupungato, Lurton, Diamandes, Andeluna, O´Fournier, Domaine Jean Bousquet, Clos de los Siete, Finca Agostino, Pascual Toso, Dominio del Plata, Santa Ana, Trapiche, Argento Wine, Catena Zapata, Séptima, Mendel, Trivento, Familia Zuccardi and Luigi Bosca. Finally, Catchpole is visiting NQN, Bodega del Fin del Mundo, Familia Schroeder, Humberto Canale and Noelia in Patagonia.
