Lagarde is with 110 years of history one of the few establishments to arise from explosion of viticulture at the beginning of the 19th century, which today preserves the magic of artisan production and elaboration of its wines. Jose Angel Pereira, a captain of the national artillery, returning from the conquest of the Patagonia campaign decided to establish himself in Luján de Cuyo, located in the region called Zona Alta del Rio Mendoza, and considered the “Primera Zona”, or best region of the country high quality wines. He founded Lagarde Winery in 1897. The winery and old house keep until today the magical aura lifestyle in Mendoza at the turn of the century. During the mid 1970’s the winery was passed from the Pereira family to the Pescarmona family. Since then Lagarde has traveled a long road to insert itself in the world wine market with high quality wines and striving to maintain the spirit of an artisan winery while introducing all the new technological advances. Our ambition is make the best wines we are capable of making. We have an objective to search incessantly for the best quality and to define our wines with a personal style, elegant, characteristic of Mendoza and independent from fashionable trends in winemaking. Searching for quality, Lagarde only produces wines from our own vineyards which enable us to design the wine from the vineyard. In addition we look to incorporate the wisdom and artistic hand of our owners and winemaker, Juan Roby Stordeur. The Winery produces four families of wines, each one with it own identity: Henry, Guarda, Lagarde Reserve and Altas Cumbres. Actually, Lagarde offers guided tours, personalized tasting, lunch and corporate events.
