Brief outline of its history. Our wines Doña Silvina carry the name of the Silvina Macipe Krontiras (Argentine) married with Mr Constantinos Krontiras is a Greek entrepreneur (ship-owner), both great wine lovers. The couple (Constantine and Silvina) as well as their 3 kids, live splitting their time between Argentina and Greece Some years ago, Silvina proposed Constantine to start up a new business that -more than a business- was to make a top quality Malbec from Mendoza. Having that purpose in mind, they bought two fincas in the best terroir in Argentine for Malbec, one in Maipú (Villa Seca, Mendoza) and the other one in Lujan de Cuyo (Perdriel, Mendza) where the flag ship winery is being built under biodynamic architectural concepts. Since then our winery has been elaborating two noble Malbec wines. Silvina personally supervises the labels design and the architectural evolution of the winery in Lujan de Cuyo. She has been from the very beginning the heart and soul of the project. How much land do we have under vine? In Mendoza, first region: Lujan de Cuyo (Perdriel, Lunlunta Hills) 8 hect. Maipu (Villa Seca), 18 hect. How much wine it is produced in an average year? We are currently producing around 20.000 litres. Our goal is to produce around 250.000 litres. Hopefully it will be reached by 2012 What are our top varieties of grape grown? Malbec, Tempranillo, Petit Verdot and Chadonnay Which are our wines/brands? For the moment we are only working with Doña Silvina brand (under Doña Silvina Malbec and Doña Silvina Reserva Malbec) in honor of Silvina as soul of our project. What developments are we planning for the future (in terms of winemaking/production/marketing/launches)? Production: to increase the quantity of litres produced, but following the biodynamic method, everything based on quality. Marketing: even we are growing very fast we want to keep our marketing as direct as possible and have straight contact with importers, restaurateurs, wine shop owners, wine educators, sommeliers, and consumers. Launches: Rose of Malbec, Chardonnay, Petit Verdot. Also a Blend (probably malbec with Tempranillo and/or Petit Verdot). Finally an Icon wine. Other: We are about to finish the construction of our second winery in our Lujan de Cuyo finca. It will be our flagship building (winery and headquarters) and it has been build following biodynamic architectural concepts (we do believe it will be the first in the region).
